Room Change Requests

Thank you for your interest in a room change for the 2025-2026 academic year. University Housing is currently working on placing applicants for Housing and will begin reviewing the possibility of room changes after the middle of July 2025.

Please understand that room changes will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis, based upon seniority, meaning that those with the highest class rank will be provided the first opportunity, and then based upon when the interested resident completes the request form. Here is how the process will work:

  • When a room becomes available, a member of the University Housing staff will notify the resident at their USCA email address.
  • The resident will have 48 business hours to reply to that email to accept the room offer.
  • If a resident fails to respond within 48 business hours, then the room will be offered to the next resident on the list.
  • Please understand that the room change offer will be for the resident only and not for his or her roommates.
  • Please know that room change offers will begin sometime after the middle of July and may continue into early August and September, depending upon room availability.
  • As some offers may be made after financial aid refunds are made to students, there may be an adjustment made to a student’s USCA Student Account that could adjust the USCA Student Account, once the offer is made and the resident is placed in the new type of room.
  • It is the responsibility of the resident to pay the outstanding balance that may be generated, once the Housing Fees are adjusted on the USCA Student Account, even if this is done after the date of the financial aid refunds as processed.
  • Once the room is accepted, if the resident is currently in another room, the Assistant Director of the building where the new room is located will  provide the resident with information on when and where to pick up the  new room keys and when to be moved out of the former room by and how to  return the old room keys.
  • Failure to follow those instructions may result in fines or fees.

In order to be considered for a room change, you must complete the Room Change Request Form. Once you have successfully submitted the form, you will receive an email outlining the process.

Should you have any other questions, please contact University Housing at (803) 641-3790 or via email at [email protected].
